Farewell reflections....

The team is on a debriefing process since Tuesday night. We spend yesterday afternoon in the community for reflection purposes with the elders and the community. The community had actually organized a farewell ceremony, with a dance, songs, dramas e.t.c We were treated as guests.

Reflections from the elders...

" We have seen a change in the atmosphere, the air is different since the team came"

" People in the village know each other well, we never used to relate to neighbors, but as we followed the young people in home visits, we found ourselves talking to people we ignored all the time"

"I learnt that there is a girl in the village who can actually make clothes. I learnt through a home visit with the team" A local YCD team-mate after a home visit

" Relationships have really improved and we want to maintain them"

" We want to form an elders group, inclusive of young people and some women we would talk about our concerns and find ways to solve together. We have been so disorganized and we need to be organized" An elder..

" Please talk to my husband, so that he can delay marrying off my daughter," cry of a mother on the last day of our process

"We have learnt so many things"
